The same 1860s portrait fully restored: the clergyman's face, hands and robes are complete and the print looks undamaged. An 1860s photograph of a seated clergyman with large white patches where the image has flaked away, including half of his face. Before After Drag
Albumen print, 1860s. Roughly a third of the image had lifted off the card, including half his face. Nothing here was retouched by hand.

Real results

Genuinely damaged photographs. Drag any of them.

Every pair below is a real archive photograph run through the same pipeline your upload goes through. No hand retouching, no cherry-picked easy cases.

Why it looks right

It repairs the photograph. It does not invent a new one.

The same face

A restoration model, not an image generator. It rebuilds what the damage covered instead of dreaming up a stranger who looks similar.

Print-ready size

You get a high-resolution file, upscaled from whatever you sent. Big enough to frame on a wall, not just post online.

About a minute

No queue of human retouchers, no three-week turnaround, no €80 invoice. Upload, wait, download.

Your photo stays yours

Originals are deleted after seven days. They are never used to train anything and never shown to anyone.

How it works

A phone photo is good enough.

You do not need a scanner and you do not need to prepare anything.

01

Photograph the print

Lay it flat in daylight, keep your own shadow out of the frame, fill the picture with the photo. That is the whole technique.

02

Upload it

Damage is repaired, detail is sharpened, resolution is increased, and colour is added if the original was black and white.

03

Download and print

Full resolution, watermark-free, yours to keep. If the result is not something you want, you are not charged.

Pricing

Pay per photo. Nothing recurring.

No subscription, no credits that expire, no account to delete later.

Questions

Six questions worth answering.

Will it still look like the same person?

Yes, and that is the whole point. There are two kinds of AI you could use here. One generates a brand new face that happens to fit the scene — it looks impressive and it is useless, because it is not your grandmother. We use the other kind: a restoration model that repairs the damaged areas using the surrounding photograph as its guide. Every example on this page is a real, unretouched result, which is why you can drag the handle across a face and see the features line up exactly.

How badly damaged can the photo be?

The portrait at the top of this page had lost most of its photographic surface, and the 1860s print in the examples was missing about a third of the image including half the man's face. Tears, water stains, mould, silver mirroring, scratches, creases and severe fading are all routine. The honest limit is that something has to survive — if a face is entirely gone, nothing can know what it looked like.

Do I need to scan it?

No. A photo taken on your phone is genuinely fine — that is what this is built for. Lay the print flat, use daylight near a window rather than flash, keep your shadow and reflections off the surface, and fill the frame with the photograph. Photos still in a frame or album work too — just get as square-on as you can.

What happens to my photographs?

Your uploads and results are deleted from our servers after seven days. They are not used to train models, not shared, and not shown as examples unless you explicitly send them to us for that. The examples on this page are all public-domain archive material for exactly that reason.

What if I do not like the result?

You are not charged. You see the finished restoration before you pay, so there is no argument to have and no refund to chase. Some photographs are simply too far gone, and we would rather tell you that than take your money.

When can I actually use it?

15 October 2026. Leave your email and you will get a single message on launch day with a code for 40% off your first order — €7.20 instead of €12. No newsletter, and your address is not shared with anyone.
